From Pollution to Purpose

Every year, millions of pounds of plastic flood our oceans — much of it from rivers in regions with few resources to stop it.

1. Community Collection

We support collection hubs in coastal communities where people exchange plastic waste for food, clean water, or fair pay, turning pollution into purpose.

2. Local Cleanups

Our team and local partners recover ocean-bound plastic from rivers, neighborhoods, and shorelines, stopping it before it reaches the ocean.

3. Verified Recycling

We recycle and track (with BanQuTM) the plastic to become high-quality materials, supplying ethical brands and ensuring nothing goes to waste.

Guatemala’s Plastic Hotspot

The Maria Linda is the most polluting river on the west coast of the American continent. Over 3.2 million pounds of plastic enter the ocean every year from the Maria Linda and the nearby Achiguate river. Tidey Ocean works in the area to change this story.
